We pray for Pope Leo XIV and for his intentions, for the Holy Catholic Church, and for unity and peace throughout the world.
Welcome to the Vallombrosan Benedictine Priests
The Archdiocese of Kingston warmly welcomes the Vallombrosan Benedictine priests who have joined our diocesan family. We are grateful for their presence, their pastoral service, and the rich Benedictine spirituality they bring to our communities.
Rooted in the Rule of Saint Benedict and inspired by the charism of Saint John Gualbert, the Vallombrosan Benedictines offer a beautiful witness of prayer, fraternity, humility, hospitality, and service to the Church.
We invite you to learn more about the Vallombrosan Congregation of the Order of Saint Benedict, their history, spirituality, and mission throughout the world.

Ordinary Time (I)
This year Ordinary Time (I) spans from January 12 to February 17. It focuses on the steady growth of Christian life through the daily living of the Gospel.
During this period, we reflect on Jesus’ public ministry—his teachings, miracles, and call to discipleship—inviting its people to integrate faith into ordinary routines and responsibilities.
Marked by the liturgical color green, this time emphasizes spiritual maturity, perseverance, and consistent conversion, reminding Christians that holiness is cultivated not only in great feasts or penitential seasons, but in faithful, everyday commitment to Christ.
Lent
Lent is a significant season in the Catholic Church that marks a period of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts for 40 days, excluding Sundays, symbolizing the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert. During Lent, Catholics focus on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as a way to grow closer to God and deepen their spiritual lives. It is a time for self-examination, penance, and renewal, offering an opportunity to turn away from sin and commit to living more faithfully.
