      Making a Spiritual Communion
      No Subtitle

      My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

      Amen.

      Prayer to Saint Joseph in Times of Danger and Uncertainty

      O Saint Joseph, Patron of Canada,

      who cared for your own family of Jesus and Mary,

      we ask you to watch over and protect our land, its leaders

      and all families with your loving gaze.

      Hear our prayers in this time of fear and anxiety:

      Lift up our drooping spirits, renew our hope

      and give us your courage and patience in the face of uncertainty.

      Enkindle in us a strong faith,

      that those who suffer may be united more closely to Jesus on the Cross,

      and that those who must helplessly watch the pain of others

      may draw strength from our Mother Mary

      who stood by the Cross of her Son.

      Grant that Christ’s sufferings may inflame our zeal

      to stand by those in need

      and give ourselves for the well-being of all society.

      Bring an end to this pandemic,

      restore the sick to health

      and guide the endeavours of researchers and health care workers.

      In all things may we always give praise and honour

      to God, the Father of all families,

      through Christ, his Son, our Saviour,

      by the power of the Holy Spirit,

      one God for ever and ever.

      Psalm 23
      No Subtitle

      The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
      He makes me lie down in green pastures;
      He leads me beside still waters;
      He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths For His Name’s sake.
      Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
      For you are with me;
      Your rod and Your staff – they comfort me.
      You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head with oil;
      My cup overflows.
      Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord My whole life long.
      [Psalm 23:1-6; NRSV]
